Hello!

My name is Andrea Laurion and I’m a writer, editor, and audio producer. I work at Vermont Public as a news producer on the call-in news show, Vermont Edition. One day, my team and I might be talking to the governor, then next, we’re on to bird migration. My favorite shows cover the intersection of culture, class, and how Vermonters feel about our changing world.

I’ve also been a contributor to Brave Little State and The Allegheny Front and provided production assistance for Snap Judgment, Campside Media, and the Divided Families Podcast. As a freelance writer, my writing has been published in SlateThe Washington Post, Shondaland, Hobart, and The Rumpus, among others. I graduated from the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine.

Before getting into audio, I worked as an obituary writer, a lunch lady, a wedding photographer assistant, a children’s birthday party hostess, a haunted house actor, and an admin assistant many times over. I’m originally from Pittsburgh, and now live in Burlington, Vermont.
