Hello!

My name is Andrea Laurion and I’m a writer, editor, and audio producer. I work at Vermont Public as a news producer on the flagship call-in news show, Vermont Edition. Some of my favorite shows cover the intersection of culture, class, and how Vermonters feel about our changing world.

I’ve also been a producer for The Nearness, a contributor to Brave Little State and The Allegheny Front, and provided production assistance for Snap Judgment, Campside Media, and the Divided Families Podcast. As a freelance writer, my writing has been published in SlateThe Washington Post, Shondaland, Hobart, and The Rumpus, among others. I attended the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in radio & podcasting.

Before getting into audio, I worked as an obituary writer, a lunch lady, a wedding photographer assistant, a children’s birthday party hostess, a haunted house actor, and an admin assistant many times over. I’m originally from Pittsburgh, and now live in Burlington, Vermont.
